  • The MSc & MBA at La Rochelle Business School

La Rochelle Business School’s MSc programmes are the equivalent of 5 years post-High School education.

ESG UQAMThe MSc is a two-year Master programme open to students who have already studied in higher education for a minimum of 3 years since graduating from High School (or international equivalent). It is the only French programme offered in post-High School education that is carried out in partnership with the ESG-UQAM School of Management at the University of Quebec in Montreal, thus benefitting from the pedagogical experience of the Executive MBA lecturers from this university. The resulting MBA certificate, awarded in academic partnership with the ESG-UQAM, therefore guarantees international recognition. The ESG-UQAM is one of the best higher education establishments in North America.

Year 2 (accessible after 4 years of study in higher education) has been developed around 11 specialisations, offering students the possibility of obtaining an MSc (Master of Science), a double degree University Master and/or an RNCP Level I State-registered qualification (the equivalent of 5 years of post-High School education).

The programme firmly focussed on company needs and student employability. This programme will enable you:

    • to take a 360° strategic vision of companies in order to understand the issues and challenges they face, and to focus on maximising results
    • to study for a job-specific specialisation
    • to develop essential soft skills: a sound ability to work in multicultural teams, advanced leadership skills and a sense of intrapreneurship
    • to have a clear understanding of ethics and CSR, in line with the fundamental values of La Rochelle Education Group
    Year 1

Year 1 of the MBA is a general management year, enabling you to strengthen your knowledge of management fundamentals and to fully understand company strategy. In your second semester, you will start to prepare for your specialisation through the different course modules on offer. Teaching is essentially based on case studies, real-life scenarios and intensive seminars. You will constantly have to deal with challenging issues… carrying out analysis, making decisions and putting forward recommendations in line with Problem Based Learning methods (learning through engagement in real issues and situations).

    Language

You can choose between a French track (100% in French) or an English track (100% in English). However, please note that if you choose the work-study track in Year 1, you can only opt for the French track.

    Induction Seminar

In order to create a group spirit and bring students together, Year 1 kicks off with a team building exercise. The objective is to create a bond between students of the same year, encourage mutual support as well as developing trust… all of which are essential values to guarantee the success of your studies.

    Professional experience

At the end of Year 1, you will carry out a 5-month company-based internship, in France or abroad. This operational internship will enable you to put theory into practice, and help you in finalising your choice of specialisation.

You have the opportunity of combining an internship with a Humacité© project, one of the unique features of La Rochelle Education Group. In this case, you will carry out a 3-month internship and a 2-month Humacité© project

    More details

    Work-study

In Year 1, you have the possibility of a work-study track. In order to select this track, you will have to negotiate a 24-month employment contract (contrat de professionnalisation) or a work-study internship agreement (une convention de stage alterné) with a company. However, please be aware that in Year 2 the work-study track is only available for certain specialisations.

These modules include collaborative intelligence, relational communication and body language, how to search for an internship, personal branding, developing your professional network, writing a CV and cover letter etc.

The different courses and projects are provided for indicative purposes only and are subject to change from one year to the next. The specialisations offered will only be available if the required minimum number of students is reached.
