  • The BBA International is a 4-year post-High School programme offered by La Rochelle Business School

    The BBA International is a 4-year post-High School programme offered by La Rochelle Business School, to educate students seeking an international career in management. The length of the programme is in harmony with international Bachelor degrees. Through a host of academic and professional experiences, more than half of your study time will be spent abroad.

    NEW FOR THE 2018/2019 ACADEMIC YEAR: POSSIBILITY OF WORK­-STUDY TRACK IN YEAR 4

    From the start of the 2018/2019 academic year, La Rochelle Business School’s BBA International will offer students the possibility of a work-study track in Year 4 of the programme, with a format of 1 week School-based followed by 3- weeks company-based, spread over a 12-month period.

    This programme is open to students who have:

    • graduated from High School or international equivalent
    • already completed a 1-year post-High School qualification
    • already completed a 2-year post-High School qualification 

    After graduating from this programme, students can choose to further their studies with a Specialised Master, a post-graduate university qualification or an MSc, either in France or abroad.

    La Rochelle Business School’s BBA programme will ensure the world is your oyster by offering you a strong academic education on its La Rochelle campus, coupled with a multitude of varied international experiences.

    A 4-year programme accessible post-High School (or international equivalent)

    Year 1- Acquiring the fundamentals

    This 4-year programme is aimed at students who have already graduated from High School or who have studied for one year since graduating from High School.

    PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

    Learning Expedition

    During the first semester, you will spend a week in a European city to learn about the country’s political, economic and cultural systems. What you experience during this week will serve as a common theme throughout the year.

    During your studies, you will undertake a 2-month social, humanitarian or civic voluntary project in an NGO or an association, either in France or abroad. This is one of the unique features of Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle, which is committed to educating students to become future managers who are both responsible and conscious of the importance of their role in society.

    Professional experience

    Year 1 finishes with an 8-week company internship carried out in your home country.

    PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

    Learning Expedition

    As in Year 1, you will spend a week in a European city. In 2017-2018, the destination is Bilbao in Spain, where second-year students will study the connection between Culture and Economic Development.

    Internship abroad

    This is a compulsory element of the course in which you will carry out an operational project in a company abroad.

    Expatriation Workshops

    These workshops have been designed to prepare you not only for the aforementioned internship abroad but also your academic expatriation which is compulsory in Year 3. You will learn about the different rules to be respected in the country you have chosen as well as the differences in teaching methods.

    Student Associations

    At Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle, there are some 40 clubs and associations to choose from.


    Preparation for your ‘Export Project’  

    During your academic expatriation in Year 3, you will carry out an Export Project. In anticipation of this, in order to secure a project, you will need to spend time contacting potential companies in the geographic zone you have chosen.

    Year 3 - Adapting to new cultures

    For students who joined the programme in Year 1 or Year 2,this year is dedicated to academic expatriation.

    • further your knowledge of the main operating areas and functions of companies, from an international angle (contextualisation)
    • acquire a better understanding of international relations

    You can choose between spending:

    • one year at a university abroad with the possibility of gaining a double degree
    • two 6-month periods in 2 different universities abroad, either in the same country or in two different countries
    Export Project

    During your expatriation, you will undertake a project for a company that wants to examine the potential of developing its business within the geographic zone that you have chosen. This is a paid project and the money you receive will help finance your expatriation.

    Year 4 - Further enhancing your competencies

    Management-level internship abroad:

    Heading abroad, you will carry out a key end-of studies or pre-employment internship, enabling you to develop your initiative and sense of responsibility in an environment that is both culturally and economically different.

    Dissertation

    This is a compulsory element for your degree to be awarded. This dissertation is the main focus of your last year and can be linked either to your choice of specialisation or to a business topic related to the company in which you carry out your end-of-year internship. In addition to providing guidance with research methodology, a tutor will assist you throughout your work.

    Programme in 3 years (accessible after one year of post-High School studies)

    Joining the programme in Year 2

    After one year of post-High School studies, you can enrol on the programme. However, before joining the rest of the students, you need to do a preparation course. Carried out via e-learning with an ‘e-dossier’, this course covers the principal subjects that were studied in Year 1.

     

    At the start of the year, you will carry out a Business Game enabling you to:

    • prove your understanding and acquisition of the subjects covered in your ‘e-dossier’
    • meet your fellow Year-2 students

    At the end of the Business Game, the Year 2 programme will take on an international dimension with the aim of:

    • discovering the main challenges facing companies abroad and looking at how they operate
    • strengthening your linguistic ability to be able to take courses and exams in a foreign language, and be able to work in a company abroad

    Programme in 2 years (accessible after two years of post-High School studies)

     

    Carrying out the programme in 2 years is possible for students who have already studied in higher education for 2 years since graduating from High School. Spread over 4 semesters, all courses are taught in English, using an interactive and participative approach to teaching. School-based periods will be alternated with periods of professional immersion abroad. Those students joining in Year 3 are a combination of both French students and international students.

    Joining the programme in Year 3

    After two year of post-High School studies, you can enrol on the programme. However, beforehand, you need to do a preparation course via e-learning. Using an ‘e-dossier’, this course covers the principal subjects that were studied in Years 1 and 2. During the first two weeks of the programme, your lecturers will review all the fundamentals.

    Semester 1 : core modules on the La Rochelle campus

    Semester 2 :

    • French students head to a partner university abroad for their academic expatriation
    • International students remain on the La Rochelle campus, following a specific study track together with other students from our partner universities

  • The teaching methods used for the BBA International programme focus on active participation and necessitate your full commitment and involvement throughout the duration of your studies. The course involves periods of both theory and practice, and time on campus will be alternated with time spent in companies, primarily abroad.     Professional experience

    Each year of study includes professional experience (company-based internships), carried out in France or abroad. From your initial internship to your final pre-employment internship, you will constantly develop your skills and become more and more autonomous in managing the projects assigned to you. By the end of your studies, you will have completed a minimum of 14 months’ company-based experience and will be ready to enter the world of work.

    Throughout your studies, you will benefit from personalised support and guidance. The School offers workshops structured around personal development, communication tools (such as CVs and cover letters), understanding the job market, learning about different careers and developing your professional network.

    In addition to this, you will have a personal tutor who is there to help you with your choice of internship, study path and professional orientation.

    Furthermore, the School offers a system of mentoring, provided by students in Year 4 who are on hand to help you academically, if need be.

    DETAILS OF ADMISSIONS TESTS
    Personal interview (in French or English depending upon the chosen track) Personal interviews are conducted by a panel made up of a member of staff from Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle and a working professional 25 mins.

    Throughout the academic year, admissions tests are organised every Tuesday, by Skype. The following table details the next deadlines and associated interview dates.

    ADMISSIONS TEST RESULTS

    Candidates will receive notification of their admission or non-admission, by e-mail, within 6 days following their interview.

    If you are admitted, you must:

    • pay a € 3000.00 deposit by the specified deadline (this amount will be deducted from your annual tuition fees)
