Carine, second-year student MSc & MBA Banking, Insurance, Wealth & Real Estate Management

carine bourel mbaI am now 43 years old. I will shortly be taking my oral to complete my MSc & MBA Banking, Insurance, Wealth & Real Estate Management. Before starting this programme, I had already worked in several different companies during my career. After completing a 3-year qualification in higher education in International Trade, I joined the Vivendi Group, working for Havas Media. Following that, through various company takeovers, I ended up joining Groupe La Poste. Here, I held the post of Sales Manager before becoming a Regional Manager, with the responsibility for several branches.

As the postal bank, part of the Groupe La Poste, was developing rapidly, I decided I wanted to improve my banking skills. I therefore decided to study at Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle, on a work-study track with 2 weeks company-based followed by 2-weeks School-based. Thanks to my professional experience, I have only had to do one year of studies instead of two.

The programme has really met my expectations. My dissertation on banking mobility under the ‘loi Macron’ has enabled me to learn more about this sector and to expand my network and in addition, I have learned a lot about financial analysis and asset portfolio management. Over this past year, I really appreciated the cohesion of the group of students I studied with… despite the age difference. My MBA will now enable me to take up a senior strategic role within Groupe La Poste and become a Client Relations Manager of a financial centre of the Banque Postale.
