Presentation

The HUMACITE programme is a 2 to 5-month period in which all students, whatever their course of study at La Rochelle Business School, dedicate themselves to a humanitarian, social or civic initiative, in France or abroad, working closely with populations in great difficulty.

Initiated five years ago as part of the Grande Ecole programme, HUMACITE has now voluntarily spread to all the school's degree programmes, offering each student the opportunity to experience a unique human adventure that is fundamental for his or her personal development and often a decisive factor in the choice of a career path.
Participation is mandatory, supervised and evaluated. Completion of HUMACITE is required to earn a degree.

Students are prepared in advance for this original adventure. 15 to 30 hours of classes, depending on the degree programme, are provided in humanitarian issues, preparation of the project, expatriation, commitment, social awareness... Each student is provided with methodological tools and receives personalised support from the school's teams, ensuring that this adventure is an unforgettable success.

A unique philosophy"

"In Mexico, students do public service. At La Rochelle, they do HUMACITE", Daniel Beaudoin, Director of Ethics and Solidarity, organiser of the HUMACITE initiative
Through the HUMACITE initiative, the school confronts students with the values they hold dear: commitment, responsibility, humility and solidarity.

All of the school’s programmes are designed and organised to offer students multiple experiences through which they can discover their personality and define their career path. HUMACITE is a key component in this approach to personal and professional development.

5 years and over a thousand projects later, HUMACITE has revealed its capacity to bring out the best in each student. By confronting them with new and sometimes difficult situations, the school offers them the possibility to experience a unique adventure, devoid of financial and professional considerations, but full of meaning and personal enrichment.

Through the HUMACITE initiative, the school offers students a chance to become responsible citizens, an essential skill in becoming managers who are aware of the world they live in.
